Feeling Heard, Understood, and Supported in Therapy
“Angela is kind, friendly and has a way of making you feel heard, understood and she connects with you instantly. I always felt that she tapped into me as a person very quickly, and this just goes to show her wealth of knowledge and understanding she has for the patient as a person, and her understanding of the processes and the human brain that cause the reactions we experience that cause us to seek therapy in the first place.
Angela uses a great approach of kindness and understanding to really understand the deep traumas in my life to uncover the current issues I am experiencing, like no other therapist has ever done before. Then uses this information to guide and help me forward with my week and future. Setting realistic tasks to complete and customises approaches going forward that she thinks will be helpful, whilst always pushing me to succeed, and being proud of me when I did.
Without Angela's recent therapy I'm unsure where I would be or how I would be coping at present. But Angela's safe space she provided for me to talk, let go and truly relax into my therapy provided me with the ability to feel like I will succeed going forward, and the future is looking brighter for me and my family. Knowing that I have the skills I have learnt to keep moving in the right direction. I cant thank Angela enough for the help, support and guidance she has given me through my months of therapy. “
Compassionate, Personalised, and Attentive Support
Angela has been brilliant – listened, came up with strategies that would support me and followed everything up after the visit. She amazed me at how she remembered everything and made me feel like an individual not a number (Jan 2025).
Insightful, Reflective, and Transformative Therapy
Angela’s approach of exploring my formative years and experiences, then relating those to present behaviours and responses has given me a level of understanding and awareness that I have not previously gained from other services. Beyond that, Angela’s ability to understand and interpret whatever I brought to our sessions meant that the methods and techniques she introduced were always responsive, appropriate and effective. Angela was also skilled at challenging me in a fair and empathetic manner when required. I am very grateful for the time, insight and support from Angela (Jun 2025).

What is Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy?
EMDR is a psychological therapy for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It is designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. EMDR facilitates the accessing and processing of traumatic memories to bring these to an adaptive resolution. After successful treatment with EMDR, emotional distress is relieved, negative beliefs are reformulated, and anxiety is reduced.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing integrates elements of many effective psychotherapies in structured protocols that are designed to maximise treatment effects. The effectiveness of EMDR for PTSD has been demonstrated by research, and EMDR is recommended as an evidence-based procedure by the British Department of Health, among other professional bodies.
